Players in the Mining and Agriculture sector have been urged to work together in the preservation of natural resources.
Speaking during the Great Dyke Mining and Agriculture Investment Conference and Awards last week, The Midlands Provincial Agriculture Extension and Rural Development Director, Medline Magwenzi said some of the mining activities are negatively affecting agriculture.
She urged miners to carry out their activities in consideration of the environment.
Last year the Zimbabwe National Water Authority revealed that a lot of the country’s water bodies are being affected by river bank mining, with authorities urging miners to extract using proper equipment and help in soil and water conservation.
